Naces y vives solo

I keep listening to that song above. Strange. I'm in a rather melancholy mood atm - is procrastination a sympton of that... who knows! What has been going down in the life of Dave for the last month. Short answer, not alot. Hmm back in the Shef, - did I already mention that in the last blog? Probably. I think that I will reemphasise, my nostalgia for Copenhagen, but its kool to back here.

I need to do some work. I think that phrase has a pattern in my academic life! Oh well, I will realise that 6 hours before my exams no doubt! Applying for law firms at the mo. I have finally decided that being a barrister, is far too pretencious. - even for me - the moot in lonodn proved that I dont want to one of those types of people. ha, as opposed to the money grabbing, soul selling city lawyers. Yep thats what I want to do. In the mean time Oz is calling me to! Should be out there by November which is cool.

Another cool thing is that the norrebrogade fmaily is soon to be reunited - well half of it at least me hopes. So fingers crossed that those lazy southern europeans can get over to sheffield for the week beginning the 19th March! ITS GONNA BE THE BEST NIGHTS EVER - to quote a crude liverpudlian I know. Who shall remain nameless. BTW booked my flights to Rome, so will be off to see Livia, and Vale there on the 15th March... its gonna be the best night ever! Its really cool to have some of your closest friends that live in some the most amazing places around the world. Ha! They will laugh when they get to the shef! Town of cheap booze and.... erm cheap booze! Little 2 is at a gig tonight, wishing him luck on that one - myself and frau counted the empty bottles of wine last night. Our house has managed to get through nearly 40 bottles of wine in the last 4 weeks. No wonder continental wine prices have gone up....Jenny, Jess and I are driving the market!!

Went on a trip to manchester the other day to go to ikea - time I should have taken to drive back to shef 80 minutes. Actual time taken. 4 hours. I blame the dirty swiss from deepest darkest switzerland. - who might I add had placed a chocolate embargo on me! Bloody swiss. Went to Leeds with little 2 and frau with his girlfriend from home to go out for a piss up. Of all the northern towns I think Leeds is the classiest. Although ti took us a good 20 mintues and a handbreak turn to break out of leeds city centre!

Been having some issues with our landlord, who tried to screw us over with charges etc. Cant say exactly what happened on the blog as I am likely to be sued. Bye bye legal career, hello sainsburys! Freyah came to stay with us in sheffield earlier b4 she went back to oz. we love her loads. Big owes me a postcard, after yours truly wrote a rather heart pouring email to him. What do I get in return. What does frau get? A postcard. POSTCARD! That dirty australian is banned from the house until I get a postcard of equal value + interest for hurt and suffering caused. Hmm actually more has happened than I realised. You dont realise until you come to write these things down.

Went on an architecture stalk today. Pretty impressed with the new library. Frau hates it. I love it. But then again i am not taking lessons in taste whose favourite outfit is to cover oneself in bright green. You all know what I mean! Im hungary but have no clean plates left. Think I will get a takeaway. God I am a lazy git. I think I will have a beer instead. Damn you Denmark! You have turned me into an alcoholic!
Have a good one,
Dave

For Good

Yo! What a funny week its been. De ja vu! Met up with Freyah in old London Town. We went to see the new Musical "Wicked" based on the Wizard of Oz. The Story reveals that the Wicked Witch of the West is misunderstood (and I'm not talking about Frau!) and the story revolv es around the incredible friendship between Glinda the good fairy and Elphaba, the misunderstood Witch.

Thought I would share one of the songs with you all. It struck a chord with me. Enjoy!

GLINDA
I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you:
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew youI have been changed for good
ELPHABA
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetimeSo let me say before we part
So much of meIs made of what I learned from you
You'll be with meLike a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the seaLike a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you:
GLINDA
Because I knew you:
BOTH
I have been changed for good
ELPHABA
And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for
GLINDA
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share
BOTH
And none of it seems to matter anymore
GLINDA ELPHABA
Like a comet pulled
Like a ship blown
From orbit as it Off it's mooring
Passes a sun, like By a wind off the
A stream that meets Sea, like a seed
A boulder, half-way Dropped by a Through the wood Bird in the wood
BOTH
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better?
GLINDA
And because I knew you:
ELPHABA
Because I knew you:
BOTH
Because I knew you:I have been changed for good
love Dave

Somewhere cold and caked in snow

Well, yet again another amazing time with amazing people. Spent the week skiing with Kiwi Claire while she does a ski season the Republique Francais! It was incredible! I love the french alps, although there wasnt actually that much snow. In fact the Snow was terrible. But the village set high next to Mont Blanc was incredible. Its probably me, but the people I seem to meet seem to be getting nicer and nicer...perhaps its just the effect of alcohol. But to all of Claires mates who made me feel so welcome I had an absolute blast! Wow! ...Hmmm I have also developed an intense interest in French Cheese. Now there is a hobby! I think I might satisfy my craving for Cheese right now. I feel like Wallace (of Grommit fame!).

Off to see Littles Gig tonight...meeting up with a certain crazy Catalan & a certain crazy Aussie. Wish me luck...its gonna get messy. Dave

Whatevers left

What am I going to do when I run out of Snow Patrol lyrics as titles for my blog. I think that I need to find an equally depressing band to adopt! So Copenhagen, for one last time I left Kobenhavn Lufthavn after an amazing time at New Year, and celebrations that I will never forget. It was very difficult saying goodbye to so many people that I love.

I have been so depressed. As soon as I got home I had 6 hours sleep I had to dash up to Shef in 5 hours which was quite good time. Running around like headless chickens looking for houses. But sorted now. On the drive back I had 5 hours to just think about the people and places that I have met and experienced lately.

Its strange. It was like al the emotions that had all been smashing against my mind were orderin themselves. It took the long hours of the twilight and driving through the English countryside to realise..why should I be sad. I had had the best time of my life. It was incredible, but it was only incredible because of the people that I was with. I know Im going to see these people very soon. Although the goodbyes the greetings will be something very special. This is my feelings on the subject. I cant wait to see you all again. Its going to be amazing! CRAZY EVEN!

I guess we have all changed. Without a doubt. I'll see you all very soon. Its fate. Trust me. Im trusting me so that says something! RIght if off skiing with Kiwki CLaire from CPH tomorrow...just goes to show how quickly these things come around.

Till Later,
Ciao x

Just say you love me now

Wow. Where to start. Well my time in Copenhagen is almost at an end. This is one of the saddest posts I have had to write, but also for one of the happiest. So I did my exams. Endless days spent at the fantastic black diamond. Day after day. With Chris, Ben, Frenchie, Julia and ocsassionally Jennie, who used the BD more as nap time.

All exams passed. Yay. Oral Exams sound worse than they are. V. pleased with results. So that was a small part of my experience over the last few weeks. More importantly, my time in CPH coming to an end. What fun I have had. Prepping for Christmas. Julia Nat & I making mince pies. Dinner at Angleterre, which was amazing.

Amazing people, who I will never forget for as long as I live. So I will say everyone. Chris(little) ,Jenny (frau) , Ben (Convict), Alicia (Frenchie), Bev, Silvia, Vale, Anna1,Estel, Sergi, Anna 2, Jochen, Chrissie, Syann, Natalie, Freyah, Seth, Stampy, Alex, & Big Al. I love you all very much. More than those 3 words could possibly say. I have had the time of my life with you guys.

Every day I have woken up to a new day in this wonderful place, and you guys have made it what it is to me. For me CPH will always have a very special place in my heart, because of your openness, your warmth, and your friendship. The moments we have spent to together, are priceless, and I thankyou from the bottom of my heart. I will go back to England, because you have enriched my life, and taught me so much - more than I have ever thought possible.

I wept so much, now everyone is leaving. It will never be the same. In this place, at this time. The time we spent at gigs, partying, over dinner, in foreign places, on cruises, drinking in the street, on biking through the streets, laughing at nothing in particular. For Copenhagen. You are all very special to me. This is the beginning of something very special. We will always treasure these moments together, but looking forward to new things together is something to be happy for. Its true. "I love you" is not enough. Its something more than that. Something very special. So until we meet again, it will have to do.

I love you all. David x

Do you want to see the world??

Time is very quickly slipping away for Copenhagen and me - the love affair. So many things to talk about as usual. Parties still getting in at stupid oclock in the morning. Frau on the other hand has gone into semi hibernation. Which I also would like to do. My second home lately has become the black diamond, which is an amazing building for which to stupid for my exams. This usually consists of arriving at 1.15 just in time for a fantastic lunch, with long lazy socialising usually consisting of Frenchie, Convict, Little 2 and co. At 3pm I start "work" which btw I am really enjoying, even though it usually involves the law petaining to the slaughter of civilians vis a vis an armed conflivt (whether that be between a state actor or non state actor, just a little bit of the law of war!) which is something which I really enjoy. Then after an hour I then start on another coffee break!.

Btw my erasmus grant finally came through! wooo. It was really starting to get desperate and we were really starting to give my liver a chance due to a minimal amount of alcohol. THanks to the introduction of Jul Ol, (Christmas beer) that problem has thankfully been solved. I now understand Homer Simpsons obsession with beer. I love it. I think I might marry it. I think the Convict already has.

Went to see the Queen in CPH, which was kool. Also went to see the Kooks with Convict Chrissie Syann, Nat & Martin which was VERY kool. The lead singer was SO high on sometihng. Whatever it was.. I want some of what he had!! They were very kool live. Cool kooks.

Seth and Brendan has setup a small company dealing with the feeding of hungary students. So we went along to the taster night. - and jolly good it was too. Lots of other stuff to mention CPH is looking fab for Xmas, my mentor cooked me dinner at her fab flat. CPH and Norrebrogade is looking amzing for Xmas, with many lights ! My worry is however the Anarchist house is being evicted so expect to see some fireworks soon!!

On a poor note, it gets dark here at 330 which is depressing, but i am still having alot of fun, and my favourite Catalans are as beautiful as ever. My room is untidy as ever, my dinner last night was amaizing. Frau is still Psycho, and myself and the Convict and Little are in the process of having her sectioned under the Danish mental health Act.

Classes have finished so I had better get my ass in gear, work hard, be productive and maybe produce some babies.

I need a Jul Ol.

Somewhere Only We Know

seems like an eternity since I last blogged. So what has been happeing in the world of the hobbit. Hmm. Well firstly went back to blighty for a couple of days. Was nice(although Seth has no navigational skills at all) , but when I came back to CPH it really felt like home. ah sigh. So what else has been happening, well myself, little 2 and the Convict have reverted to talking like bbc correspondants whenever we converse, the Snoopy twins are going through men at a frightening speed with certain lovebites at certain parties. we are now searching cph for the criminal and are possibly conisidering hiring a hitman to break some legs. Frau is still having clothing issues, and has now informed me that her national dresscode consists of lime green... and only limegreen although she may possibly be going naked to the party. Little on the other hand is contesting this. Meanwhile both are having washing up issues, with the whole incident threatening to cause a major international incident due to Fraus multiuple sexual encounters with many countries... in her own words "not quite... but im working on it". Jesus Christ I live is a looney bin! "Lower the globe!" and... "Fire the laser!!"

Estel as usual is beautiful, Sergi equally so with his parents now visiting. I wanted to say hi but they no comprendo englisho. Never mind. The girls house is equally crazy with Anna as usual being a fantastic cook, bucdking the Catalan trend! Chrissie has all sorts of strange objects in her room.

We have a new member of the family - jeff the pumpkin which we used for out halloween dinner - although he is ageing rapidly and starting to smell. Alicia on the other hand cooks wonderfully at our house... so much so that the following morning little 2 and I had a minr fight over the remnants of chocolate cake. In the words of the convict... settle!

Ah onwards and upwards, Sheffield has emailed me my conversion points for the programme and it is now looking rather good. yay.

We went to the MTV music awards last night, courtesy of Alex and Natalie, to whom I am very grateful as I double booked the tickets resulting in a rather angry looking mothership who preceeded to smack me for my incompetence. Australian temper. No wonder we deported her! Natalie cooked and amazing meal 4 me and little 2.

However the night was bloody freezing. So much so that the previous day it was snowing, with the Aussies gazing out the window as they had never seen snow fall from the sky. bloody freezing.

Which is exactly the temp. in Radhuspladsen. It was so cold, but was fun to be with Seth Chris Nat Alex and Freya. Saw amazing concerts live in the sqaure. Natalie and I went crazy when the Killers came on, and were shouting loudly in untuned voices ato all the words with the Danes looking at us like we were from another planet!! We stood in the cold for 5 hours to watch Jet, Keane, Snoopdog and Farrell whho each wore the dead skins of half a forest to protect themselves from the Scand. winter. Incredible. Although the others in our house went into the actual awards ceremony... I think we had the better deal.

Anyway blabbling on for far too long... Jule Ol is being released tonight!! Wooo!! Or in English Christmas beer...! In Denmark any excuse for a party

So it means I will be home at 4pm tomorrow afternoon
